1. 6 month, 7 visit traditional program
2. 8 week, 9 visit accelerated program (doctor has to approve you for it). This is for patients that have to lose 40-50lbs very rapidly due to an upcoming surgery or medical reasons

• In both programs Dr. Bianchi will perform an extensive history and physical, EKG, and lab work at the start and end of the program.
• Dr. Bianchi then customizes a calorie restricted program specific for your body type, weight, and age.
• Weight loss medicines are prescribed to patients that qualify and require them.
• The Program also gets you a discounted membership at the Hockessin Athletic Club with two visits with a personal trainer.

2. How do I start?

• If you think you are interested in learning more or if you are not sure if this program is for you, we can schedule you a consultation with the doctor - this cost is $100.
• A $50 deposit to reserve a spot is taken over the phone and the remaining $50 is paid at the time of consultation.

3. What happens during the consultation?

• Dr. Bianchi will perform a complete history, physical, body mass, and body fat calculation and will decide which program you would best qualify for.
• If you decide to sign up for the program, Dr. Bianchi will give you a script for lab work which you will have done before you come in for your 1st visit.

4. How much does the program cost?

• The current cost of the traditional program is $675, due in full at the 1st visit. The accelerated program cost is $875, due in full at the 1st visit.
• A payment plan for the traditional program ONLY is offered in which $400 is due at the 1st visit and #375 is automatically deducted on the 3rd visit.

5. Is the program covered by insurance?

• Currently, no. A health savings account may be used though and  Dr. Bianchi will give you a super-bill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We have had some success with this if your family doctor also writes a letter of medical necessity for you to participate in the program.

For this reason I opened the Bianchi Medical Weight Loss Center.  My comprehensive program is designed to address the disease of obesity itself and educate patients on proper nutrition, eating patterns and exercise routines in order to achieve permanent weight loss and lifestyle change as well as to prevent weight regain.  Patients in this program do not diet, rather they are taught to eat healthier yet still enjoy their favorite foods.  The patients will also be able to receive weight loss medications in a safe and appropriate setting, under the supervision of a board certified medical bariatric specialist.

I began my training in bariatric medicine two years ago, and in November 2008 I achieved my board certification by the American Board of Bariatric Medicine.  I am currently the only practicing board certified medical bariatric specialist in Delaware.

My program is designed to provide extensive health benefits for  patients with many medical conditions including but not limited to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, acid reflux disease, arthritis, knee hip and back pain, and asthma.   Patients can enjoy these benefit with as little as 5-10% reduction in there current weight.

The 6 month program consists of 7 office visits with me, a preliminary EKG on the first visit, all baseline lab work, all educational materials, and a discounted membership to the Hockessin Athletic Club with no signup fee.  I also offer a one year weight maintenance program.  Although the program is not currently reimbursed by insurances, the cost is nearly 75% less than the other currently available programs.

The Change
April 2008. After an annual physical examination by Dr. Bianchi the result were not far from what I had in mind and was afraid to hear….. Obese, hypertension, high cholesterol, and very close to earn a free ticket to heart attack at 38 years old. I knew something would have to change if I want to play with my kids or just make my wife proud.

The strategy
After a discussion with Dr. Bianchi regarding my diet habits he designed a Medical plan suitable to my age, with a balance diet dependable on calorie account and an exercise program.

The Lifestyle
I followed Dr. Bianchi daily diet program with monthly follow up visits to ensure success with Dr. Bianchi’s close monitoring diet program.
