About Dr. Bianchi

A member of the AAFP, ASBP, ASBS, and AMA, Dr. Bianchi was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. Dr. Bianchi completed his medical school training at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and subsequently moved onto a year of General Surgery training at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, PA. He then completed a Family Practice residency at St. Francis Hospital. He was chosen as Chief Resident and graduate in 2003.

Dr. Bianchi opened a private practice in December, 2003 where to date he has treated over 7500 patients. He was appointed the Director of Medical Clearances with the St. Francis Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence in 2005 where he personally reviewed and provided medical clearances for over 1000 patients undergoing lab band or gastric bypass surgery.

He is currently board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. Dr. Bianchi began his training in Bariatric Medicine in 2006 and in November, 2008 he passed the oral and written boards in Bariatric Medicine.

He is currently the only board certified medical weight loss specialist in Delaware (pending patient care review). In only five years of practice, Dr. Bianchi has already been recognized as America’s Top Family Doctors in 2007 and 2008 and most recently by Delaware Today magazine as one of Delaware’s Top Family Physicians in 2008.
